The Battleford Trail entered the R.M. of Monet from the south near Otter Springs.
A piece of the original trail is still visible as it climbs up from the Mondu Flats and begins to wend its way through the hills to the north. The trail and a panoramic view of the flats can be seen from an ancient hilltop gravesite at 16-26-16 W3rd. This site is on private property. On Highway 44 west of Wartime a Point of Interest cairn has been erected beside the road to identify where the trail crossed.
The trail going North was marked October, 2015 when the above marker was erected north of NW 33-26-17-3 in the edge of the road allowance. This road is the correction line, Grid 752.
